EARLY DISMISSAL
Dismissals during the school day should be kept to a minimum, primarily for emergency situations. A note should be sent to the teacher in the morning. The note should state the reason for leaving, the time of departure, and name of the adult who will stop in the office for the child.
For their protection and safety, children must be signed in and out, in the office, when picked up or dropped off at school. Children may not wait outside or in the school entrances or meet parents in the parking lot or in the loop.

DRESS

Except on rainy days or days below 15 degrees or with high wind chill, the children will be playing outside during recess. They look forward to this break in their day, and they need the freedom to use their large muscles. We ask your help in outfitting them appropriately for outdoor play throughout the year. Boots, snowpants/suits, hats, and mittens are required on snowy, cold days.

In the warmer months, students may wear shorts to school; however, they must be a reasonable length.  Tank tops are allowed; spaghetti straps are not permitted.  All shirts/T-shirts must be long enough to cover the midriff area and pants/shorts must not be worn low enough to show midriff or underwear.  Writing on T-shirts must be in good taste.  There are specific guidelines for fourth and fifth graders’ dress for physical education.  Students are to wear shorts and a T-shirt (no tank tops or spaghetti strips).  The T-shirt must be long enough to cover the midriff area.

No flip flops are allowed on the playground.

PETS AND TOYS
For safety  reasons, no pets are to be brought into the school building or on school grounds outside of cars.  Problems arise each year when children bring articles to school that are dangerous or that interfere with school procedures in some way. Please help your child understand that items such as guns, explosives, bean shooters, knives, bubblepipes, radios, tape players, computer games, hockey/lacrosse sticks, etc. are not permitted on school grounds.
