The Barker Road Counseling staff is committed to helping all students become effective learners, achieve personal and social goals, and develop into responsible, contributing members of society. The counselors respond to the needs of students and parents in proactive and preventative ways through individual and group counseling, classroom instruction, parent-teacher conferences, and professional and teacher consultations. Pupils are assigned a school counselor based upon the color coded team that they are assigned to. Barker Road school counselor assignments are as follows:

Developmentally appropriate classroom lessons are presented at each grade level including lessons on respect, sexual harassment, career exploration and bullying. Small groups are also offered, depending on need, focusing on social skills, anxiety management and for students of separated or divorced families.
