MCC Dual Credit Registration...

All students taking Entrepreneurship are eligible to register and receive college credit for this class. Please locate the links below and follow the directions to register online. Below you will find information on the classes I will be teaching for the 2011 - 2012 school year. If you would like to see the syllabus for each class, click on the "Resources" link to the left.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Business Dynamics I:  This course introduces students to career options based on several self-assesments that we will complete in class.  The career selection process will be easier for you once you have determined your interests, abilities, values, personality, aptitudes, and general knowledge of the workplace. 

Business Dynamics II: This course is designed to help students understand and develop the employment skills and knowledge needed to prepare for an exciting career in our rapidly changing business world.  You will explore how to manage your personal finances including budgeting, banking, consumerism, credit and many other consumer skills.

Entrepreneurship:  This business course is designed for those interested in learning how to start and manage a small business. It begins by defining and explaining the nature of small business in today's economy and entrepreneurs in the context of the free enterprise system. The topics include small business opportunities, legal forms of ownership, franchising, starting a new venture, sources of financing, developing marketing strategies and human resource management. Students will also learn the key components of a business plan, review case studies, and undertake a major project.

Cooperative Work Experience: Did you work during the summer months? Are you currently working now? How about during the school year? If so, why not take advantage of the school credit offered through the business department for working outside of school. If you are interested in this opportunity, stop in and see me in room 204 (Business Office).

Principles of Marketing: This course is designed to let you explore the exciting field of advertising and sales, product management, and finance. Marketing is all around us and plays a vital role in our economy. By studying past and current trends, you will have the opportunity to speculate on future innovations and how they will relate to your career goals. In addition, you will have the opportunity to create your own digital marketing portfolio throughout the year. This portfolio will help you to realize your own conceptual growth within the field of marketing and creative advertising design.
