Gateway Academy 2009!!!

August 10th - 14th  (9am - 3pm)

Program:  The SME foundation and PLTW have developed a hands-on learning program for the Gateway Academy based on PLTW’s successful middle school pre-engineering curriculum.  This age appropriate, project based experience is designed to help middle school students learn the fundamentals of advanced math, science and technology.  At the Gateway Academy, middle school instructors certified to teach PLTW courses will provide expert instruction in small group settings.  During the week long academy, campers will work together in a fun environment using leading-edge technologies to sample such disciplines as robotics, aeronautics, and biotechnology.

Admissions:  Camp enrollment is limited to 50 students.  Day campers will be selected on a first-come first-served basis.  Highly motivated middle school students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply by June 5^th.

Gateway acadmy Criteria:

• Boys and Girls entering 6^th, 7^th, or 8^th grades during the 2009- 2010 school year
• Students of Pittsford Central School District
• Interested in math, science, and technology
• Comfortable working in a fast-pasted environment
• Eager to have fun, learn something new, and make new friends
