Mr. Muscato
“I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.” ~ Albert Einstein
My passion and desire to become a teacher has taken me down a path less traveled, but I do not regret my journey. On the contrary, I am grateful for the extraordinary odyssey I encountered along the way. After all, it was Albert Einstein who said, “It would be better if you begin to teach others only after you yourself have learned something.”
I graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1992 and from S.U.N.Y. Brockport in 1997, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Communications. I enjoyed a career in radio, working as a news and sports anchor for several different radio stations in Canandaigua, Geneva, and Rochester. Years later, I decided to pursue my dream of being a teacher, and in 2009, I completed my Master of Science in Inclusive Education from Nazareth College of Rochester. In the fall of 2009, I began my teaching career in the Batavia City School District, first as an AIS reading teacher and then as a third grade general education teacher.
I began the 2013 school year as a fifth grade teacher at Allen Creek Elementary, where I spent six wonderful years surrounded and immersed in a culture of "being our best selves, and doing our best work." This is now my fourteenth year teaching, and my fifth year as an Elementary Instructional Technology Teacher. I am truly thrilled to be a part of the commitment and passion for excellence that is Pittsford Central, and grateful to be able to share my enthusiasm and experiences with students and teachers!
