Community Information Meetings

  • Archive:  Capital Project Referendum - Community Information Meetings

Pittsford Central School District residents will be asked to decide on two propositions at the polls on December 11, 2012. The Board adopted these resolutions after studying the building condition reports submitted to New York State, a feasibility report on the use and condition of the PCSD athletic fields, and several other sources, including input from the community.

The first proposition includes repairs and renovations to all nine school buildings. The items included in this proposition will support the system integrity of District buildings, create compliance with current codes and update communication technologies. There is an estimated zero local tax impact on residents achieved by using capital reserve funds and state aid.

Proposition 2 includes improvements to our physical education/ athletic fields. If the second proposition passes, it will only go forward if the first proposition passes as well. If both are approved, the estimated local tax share would be $1.2 million which equates to an estimated tax increase of $4.99 per year, for 15 years, based on the average home assessed at $250,000, with a $30,000 Basic STAR exemption.
