I've been asked to share the lyrics of the song I wrote for graduation.  Here they are! 

Love Notes For Your Future Selves

When did self-consciousness become something negative

I think knowing thy self should be your first prerogative

If you don’t like what you see? Put in the work and improve

There’s honor in the struggle, it’s your move…

Well you don’t often get gifts without some tag-along baggage

Nothing truly meaningful comes so easily is the well-worn adage

Find people and work that best accentuate your positives

Be there, be present, be open, it’s no secret

And LOVE, unreservedly

And HOPE however undeservedly

And CARE because that’s the decent thing

And when you DREAM, dream BIG

And love so hate…has no place…in you

Hate is easy and cheap, you know it’s falsely powerful

You should try to love more, there’s strength in being vulnerable

And don’t you dare be careless and mistake kindness for weakness

Empathy and compassion always work out best

And LOVE, unreservedly

And CARE because that’s the decent thing

Understanding banishes fear, dialogue with an other

And being grateful brings more happiness, on this cusp of summer

It’s been a long and crazy year, but you know that we’ve recovered
