Polar Plunge
  • The Rochester Polar Plunge supports the programs and services of Special Olympics New York.  Special Olympics New York provides year-round training and competition to over 65,000 athletes and unified partners with intellectual disabilities across over 23 Olympic style sports.  The greater Rochester area supports over 3,500 athletes and hosts over 40 local Special Olympics competitions annually.

Over the past five years, students from Pittsford Sutherland and Mendon have generated more than $26,000 in donations for Special Olympics through their Polar Plunge fundraisers.  This year’s goal for the Sutherland SuperFans Plunge Teams is $5,000 and Mr. Puma has volunteered to join us in “Freezin’ for a Reason” should that goal be achieved.

So far, twenty-three students have registered on the SuperFans Upperclass and Underclass teams and we’re hoping to recruit others to assist in achieving the goal before February 10.

Anyone wishing to join the team can do so online at:
    events.nyso.org/goto/superfansunderclass    or    events.nyso.org/goto/superfansupperclass.

Additional information about the Plunge is also available at: polarplunge.net.
