  • I have been teaching instrumental music in the Pittsford Central School District since 1995. There is no better way to spend the day than making music with children! I use a sound before sight approach in the first part of the year so that we can spend time getting to know our instruments and developing our musicianship prior to reading notation. This involves a great deal of listening, singing, moving, improvising and learning tunes by ear. We will spend the second half of the year focusing on reading and writing notation with comprehension.

I am originally from Huntington, NY where they have the world's best pizza! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Indiana University and a Master's Degree in Clarinet Performance from the Eastman School of Music. I perform with several groups in the Rochester area: Eastman Music Educator's Wind Ensemble, The Earthtones (60's through 80's rock), and Bad Sneakers (Steely Dan tribute). I live in Pittsford with my family and our 2 cats, Razzy and Finn.
