5/29 Update
Posted by KATHLEEN SHEA on 5/29/2020Hello Seniors!
This week you get to pick a controversial topic from the website procon.org. Please select a topic from one of the following categories: Most Popular, Health & Medicine, Education, Politics and Science & Technology. The only limit I will give you is this: You can NOT pick the same topic as your final project.
Throughout the week, read through all the information this website has on your topic. Feel free to do further research if you so desire. By Wednesday, I would like you to send me a pro-con chart with 5 supporting arguments for each side. By Friday, I would like you to send me a 1-2 page position paper on the topic you selected. Remember all writing for me must be MLA format.
What am I looking for in this position paper?
1. An explanation as to why this topic is controversial
2. A clear position on the topic
3. Specific facts to support your position – minimum of 5 facts, which you then explain.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I’m always happy to help.
Stay healthy!
Ms. Shea
