First graders meet for 40 minute music classes two times per 6-day cycle. Our main focuses are singing, dancing, creating, improvising, music literacy, and making joyful music together. We explore stories, songs, and games from various parts of the world while learning the concepts of music. Students practice using different types of voices (singing, speaking, whisper, shouting) and they explore ways to make sounds and patterns with their bodies.
