Sight Words 

Sight words (high frequency words) are words that appear most frequently in texts. Automatically recalling sight words is critical to reading not only because they are used so frequently, but also because many of them cannot be sounded out. A child has mastered a sight word when they can read it automatically. Children should not be encouraged to sound out sight words. You will find the the links to the kindergarten, first grade and second grade sight words at the bottom of the page. Enjoy practicing!
