Summer Science

  • This page is for things related to Science that you can do during the Summer:

      (still under construction)


    Make GAK:  1 cup. Elmer's white glue    (WITH PARENTAL PERMISSION)

                        1 cup. liquid starch (can be found in the laundry aisle at Wegmans)

             Mix both together until you can get it into a ball and it isn't stringy.

             Have fun!  Additional:  You may add food color

    STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Challenges:


    MARSHMALLOW TOWER

      How tall can you build a tower of marshmallows?

      SUPPLIES: marshmallows and toothpicks


    MYSTERY STEM CHALLENGE

      Fill a paper bag with whatever random supplies you can find at home.  

      That's all your child gets to build an invention.

      Or you can have your child gather random materials to fill a paper bag.

      SUPPLIES: pipe cleaners, straws, popsicle sticks, spaghetti (uncooked), balloon,

                      plastic bottle caps, plastic bottle, small cups, Kleenex box or other items.
