Genesee Country Village and Museum Field Trip Information

On June 15, 2023, we will be going to the Genesee Country Museum.  Here are some things you need to know in order to be prepared:

• Our bus load of fourth graders leaves TRE at 8:45, so please have your child to school on time.  Parents need to drive themselves and are encouraged to follow the buses.

• Please apply some sunscreen to exposed areas in the morning before school. 

• Please wear sneakers - no flip-flops or sandals as the paths are all gravel and are often uneven.

• Dress for the weather.  We go rain or shine!  For sun, please consider sunglasses and/or a hat.  For rain, think about a poncho or raincoat with a hood and rain boots. Umbrellas are not allowed.

• Students must bring a lunch that day.   Their regular lunch boxes can be used, or if you prefer, a paper bag.  Putting a paper bag inside of a plastic bag (like a Wegman’s bag) and then tying the handles together works well to keep it enclosed and dry.  Please be sure your child’s name is on his/her lunch. No glass containers please.

• Students are allowed to bring electronic games, music, books, etc. for our long bus ride. These items will be locked on the bus while we tour the museum.

• Do not send money.  Students’ admission fees have been paid in advance and no one is allowed to purchase food or souvenirs.
