Nightly Reading

  •  Nightly Reading

Fourth graders should be reading for 20 minutes each day.  This should be from chapter books (not graphic novels), to help build stamina.  You can help your child by asking him/her to tell you about what he/she has read.  If your child is struggling, or wants to read a book that is above his/her level at this time, I suggest doing a buddy read - your child reads a page, then your read a page.  Talk about the story as you read. Your kids are never to old to be read to! Please note the minutes read and initial your child's planner each night; this is our reading log.  Thank you!
