Three Types of Connections

Text to Self-- A connection where something or someone in the text is like you in some way.

Text to Text-- A connection where something or someone in the text reminds you of another story, book or poem that you have read.

Text to World-- A connection where there are people in the text who remind you of people you know.  Where there are events happening in the text that are like events going on all around you - in your family, among your friends and neighbors, or in what you learn from the news or other media.
