Volunteer

  • As part of the course requirements, you must complete 2 hours of volunteer community service that are specifically designated for this course.  You will not be allowed to double count hours that you may have likely completed during the course of other school activities or organizations such as National Honor Society (NHS)!!

Some popular Community Service ideas include working with:

Schools - Lots of opportunities available from the counseling office
Children - Reading programs @ the library or in the elementary schools
Senior Citizens - Share your time with the cool folks @ The Highlands, for example
Food Pantries or Soup Kitchens - Pittsford Food Cupboard, Foodlink
Thrift Shops / Donation Centers - sorting, stocking, popping tags, looking for a come-up, etc
Habitat for Humanity - Flower City Habitat: get your build on

www.rochestercares.org - sign up for numerous volunteer activities each month
    http://www.volunteerguide.org/ - browse for ideas & inspiration
https://www.pittsfordschools.org/Page/1078 - for opportuntities through the school office

All Community Service projects are subject to pre-approval from me.  If you have any questions or ideas that you would like my input on, please do not hesitate to ask!  You do not want to be asking me what qualifies for PIG community service during the last week of the semester!!
