Assessments

  • Developing the Overall Grade

Daily worthwhile participation and the ability to demonstrate proficient execution will power the student’s physical education grade. Quality participation is paramount and will be assessed on a daily basis. Student execution of each unit’s objectives should be assessed before and after instructional delivery. It is the professional duty of each teacher to communicate how their students will be assessed for each unit.

All five sub-categories will be part of each assessment unit and will be determined prior to the delivery of the instruction. It will also be the teacher’s responsibility to convey the distinct difference between passing, failing and everything in-between. Five week reports, counseling notices, principal, and parent communications will be used as in any other discipline when students are not completing their work or are having difficulty maintaining an acceptable passing grade.
