Board Members

Sarah Pelusio

Sarah Pelusio was elected to the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education in 2021, is currently President, and is in her second term as a member of the Board. She previously served as Vice President of the Board of Education from 2024-25 and 2025-26.

Ms. Pelusio currently serves as the PCSD Board of Education Legislative Liaison, and is a member of the Audit Oversight Committee, Town/Village/School District Leadership, and Board of Education Policy Ad-hoc Committee.

Additionally, she serves on the Executive and Steering Committees of the Monroe County School Boards Association and is an active member of the Legislative, District Operations, and Information Exchange Committees.

Ms. Pelusio is the Legislative Director at Monroe County School Boards Association.

She previously served as President of the Pittsford Central PTSA, and was a member of the Pittsford District Planning Team, PCSD Instructional Leadership Council, and Parent Advisory Council to the Superintendent.

Ms. Pelusio holds a B.S. in Hospitality and Service Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, is married and has three children in the District.

Jeffrey Casey

Term Ends: 2027

Jeffrey Casey was elected to the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education in 2021, is currently Vice President, and is serving his second term as a member of the Board. He previously served as President of the Board of Education (2025-26), President Elect (2024-25), and Vice President (2023-24).

Mr. Casey is a member of the Board of Education's Audit Oversight Committee and the Communications and Messaging sub-committee.

He is an Attorney and Counsel for the Americas at Cooper Vision, is past chair of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Section, and a volunteer with the University at Buffalo Law School Mentor Program

Mr. Casey holds a J.D. from the University of Buffalo and a B.A. in History from SUNY Fredonia.

Dave Berk

Term Ends: 2028

Dave Berk was elected to the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education in 2022 and is serving his second term as a member of the Board. He currently serves on the Communications and Messaging sub-committee of the Board of Education.

He is CEO of Beacon Talent, former Vice President of Marketing at Porch Group (NASDAQ:PRCH), and former Senior Director of Operations at Hired (OTCMKTS: AHEXY).

Mr. Berk holds a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Vermont and is a Sutherland High School graduate. He is married and has two children.

Emily Kay

Term Ends: 2028

Emily Kay was elected to the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education in 2022 and is currently serving her second term. She serves as the Board of Education liaison to the Pittsford Teacher Center Policy Board and as a member of the Board of Education subcommittee on Policy Review. Additionally, Ms. Kay serves as co-chair for the Monroe County School Board Association's (MCSBA) District Operations committee. She is a member of the MCSBA Legislative and Information Exchange committees.

She has served as Mendon Center Elementary School's PTSA secretary, e-news editor, yearbook staff, room parent, Light the Loop volunteer, classroom volunteer, and a member of PTSA QUEST. She also volunteers as an Odyssey of the Mind coach and at St. Louis Church. She is a member of the University of Rochester Symphonic Orchestra.

Ms. Kay holds a B.A. in English and Spanish from Wake Forest University, is married and has three children who attend Pittsford Schools.

John Pizzutelli

Term Ends: 2029

John Pizzutelli was elected to the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education in 2026 and is serving his first term.

Mr. Pizzutelli has worked in the District in several roles, including substitute elementary teacher, long-term substitute science teacher, and lunchroom/playground monitor.

He served as co-chair of the Mendon Center Elementary School PTSA and currently serves as co-chair of the Barker Road Middle School PTSA. He also serves on the District PTSA Executive Board, and as the PTSA representative for multiple administrative interview committees. He has led International Day, Teacher Appreciation Day, Science Action Day, and fun runs in the schools. He is also a coach with the Mustangs Soccer Club.

Mr. Pizzutelli is a Mendon High School alum and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Siena College. He is married with two children who attend Pittsford Schools.

René Sanchez-Kazacos

René Sanchez‑Kazacos has served on the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education since 2017. She is currently a member of the Board’s Community Engagement and Policy Review subcommittees. Her past Board service includes work as the Teacher Center Policy Board liaison and participation on the Audit Oversight Committee.

With more than 25 years of experience as a public school educator, Ms. Sanchez‑Kazacos is a social studies teacher in the Rush‑Henrietta Central School District. Throughout her career, she has been an active member of both the New York Council for Social Studies and the Rochester Council for Social Studies. Since 2017, she has also been a local member of ED5/6, which has provided opportunities to advocate for students and schools, including participation in the Committee of 100 in Albany. Additionally, she has served as a New York State United Teachers voting delegate.

Ms. Sanchez‑Kazacos earned both her B.A. and M.A. in Education from SUNY Fredonia. She and her husband are the parents of two Mendon High School graduates.

Robin Scott

Term Ends: 2029

Robin Scott has been a member of the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education since 2020, served as President from 2023 to 2025, and is serving her third term as a member of the Board. 

Ms. Scott has served on the Monroe County School Boards Association (MCSBA) Executive, Leadership, Information Exchange, and Legislative committees. Ms. Scott  is currently a member of the PCSD Audit Oversight committee. She also engaged with our community’s Town/Village/School District Leadership and PCSD Negotiating team.

Formerly, Ms. Scott served as President of the Pittsford District PTSA, PTSA President Elect, Vice President of the Education Council, Chair of Enrichment Grants, District PTSA Secretary and Thornell Road School Building Chair. She is a recipient of the 2020 PTSA Honorary Life Membership Award. Ms. Scott was also a member of the District Planning Team, Inclusivity Advisory Committee, the Code of Conduct Review committee, Teacher Center Policy Board, and interview committees. She has participated in Generation Ready workshops and training sessions.

Ms. Scott holds a B.A. from Rhodes College in International Studies and an M.A. from the University of Michigan in Near Eastern Studies. She is married with one child who graduated from Pittsford Mendon High School.
