Containing Costs
Efficiency Strategies to Contain Costs
Employees pay a greater portion of their health insurance:
In recent contract negotiations, employees agreed to change their health care coverage and/or enroll in a lower cost plan.
Energy saving and cost control devices:
Including the implementation of geothermal systems at Calkins Road Middle School, district-wide improvements in insulation, roofing, windows, doors, lighting and computerized mechanical systems.
Standardized buses to two models:
Interchangeable parts provide results in efficiencies in purchasing, storage, inventory control and maintenance.
Bidding Process:
Necessary when seeking certain services that cost more than $20,000 and to purchase numerous items ranging from paper, to food products, to supplies and materials.
The following bids are solicited annually by the Pittsford Central School District for obtaining competitive pricing on purchases. Quotations are also solicited for purchases less than the required dollar limit for bidding.
