Mendon High School Groundbreaking

A groundbreaking ceremony took place at Mendon High School on May 12, 2025, to officially mark the start of construction for a two-story addition that will be built on the north side of the building for science and language classrooms. The existing science classrooms will be renovated for safety purposes and will align with the Sutherland High School facilities.

In March 2023, the community approved a $69 million Capital Project. Construction related to this project is scheduled to begin the first of May at Barker Road Middle School and Mendon High School. Some parking lots will be utilized to accommodate construction vehicles and supplies. Parking will therefore be limited and some meetings at these schools will be moved to other locations.

Phase II of the capital project residents voted on in March 2023 has begun. Phase II plans have been sent to the State Education Department (SED) where they passed the architectural review and are now being assessed for their engineering integrity.
