Budget Information 2017-2018

2017-2018 Budget Passes – Thank you PCSD Residents!

The Pittsford Central School District held the budget revote on June 20, 2017. The budget passed with the required simple majority (50% + 1 of voters). The results are as follows:

  • Yes      3,107
  • No       1,234

Following are highlights of the 2017-18 budget:

  • $130,064,518 Budget
  • Estimated tax levy increase of 2.7% which is within the NYS Tax Cap
  • Based on current information, will be NYS Tax Credit eligible

(may vary based on individual)

  • Approximately $99 property tax increase for average homeowner

($250,000 assessed value, eligible for BASIC STAR exemption)

2017-18 Budget Revote Information

School Budget Revote on Tuesday, June 20, 2017

 

As a result of the unsuccessful super-majority vote on the 2017-18 proposed budget, a revote will take place on the legally determined date of Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Unfortunately, the law states that the Board of Education must adopt a budget by next week (see schedule below); leaving minimal time to create a second budget. It is important for the Board and Superintendent to get as much feedback as possible during such a small window of time. For this reason, we are reviewing exit polling and community survey data which will be shared at our Board meeting on May 22, 2017, before a new budget needs to be adopted on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Revote for 2017-2018 proposed budget, 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Barker Road Middle School Gymnasium (Voting only on the budget). In the event this budget is not successful, PCSD will legally be required to go to a contingent budget which would result in a $6.7 million gap from the last proposed budget.  

 

As we move forward, we encourage the PCSD community to attend the above Board of Education meetings, and vote on June 20, 2017.
