Free and Reduced Lunch
Dear PCSD Families,
The District recognizes the importance of assisting our families in need through various programs including free meals. As we enter the 2025-26 school year, I want to provide some updated information.
At the end of June, the District sent a survey to parents asking for input about rejoining the National School Lunch Program that now offers Universal Free Meals. As a result, we’re pleased to share with you that, starting in September, PCSD will be reentering the National School Lunch Program and offering Universal Free Meals at the elementary level. Breakfast and lunch will now be free every school day for elementary students. Universal Free Meals are made possible due to changes in state and federal laws.
All students in elementary schools will receive (1) Breakfast and (1) Lunch meal of choice at no charge regardless of household income or completion of this form.
Although PCSD now offers free meals to our elementary students, we are still collecting the free and reduced income applications for all households, and we encourage families in Middle and High school to submit to the application to the address below.
The District relies on completed applications for the purpose of New York State aid. If fewer applications are completed, the District’s state aid could decrease, and we risk not offering the exceptional programs that Pittsford families have come to expect.
We encourage families to complete the application as soon as possible. The importance of this completed application is essential for State Aid and will continue to allow the District to offer educational, athletic and extracurricular opportunities for our students.
Completed applications should be dropped off in person or sent to Pittsford Food Service Department, 100 Mendon Center Road, Pittsford, NY 14534.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at (585) 267-1096 or elena_montgomery@pittsford.monroe.edu. We look forward to serving your child(ren) healthy and nutritious meals again this school year.
Sincerely,
Elena Montgomery
Director of Food Service
