The 24th annual Rainbow Classic basketball event, held on December 20, 2024, brought the Pittsford community together for a night of spirited competition, all for a great cause. This year’s event raised $31,000 in support of Golisano Children’s Hospital.

As part of Pittsford Central School District’s annual budget development process, the District Planning Team develops the District’s budget guidelines which are reviewed and approved by the Board of Education each year. The guidelines establish a framework for District administrators and support the Board of Education’s decision-making processes.

The search process for a new Barker Road Middle School principal is underway and will be followed by a collaborative interview process. This follows the resignation of Sarah Jacob who accepted a position as the high school principal at Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, beginning January 9, 2025. Retired PCSD assistant principal, Jennifer Marren, will be the Barker Road interim principal until a new principal is hired.

The District’s Advocacy Team has met throughout the fall and is comprised of teachers, clerical staff, parents, administrators and Board of Education members. There will be no school on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, as Lunar New Year has been declared a New York State public holiday. Schools will not be in session that day for students and teachers of Pittsford Schools. As with other NYS and Federal Holidays, athletic team practices and games will proceed as scheduled.
The academic calendar’s 6-day rotation cycle for elementary schools will not be affected. Day 4 will be skipped on January 29, so January 30 will remain rotation day 5 when classes resume.
