Professional Certificate Holders

Responsibilities:
Professional Certificate holders must complete 100 hours of professional learning/CTLE every five (5) years in order to continue to hold their certificate and teach in New York State.

Allowable activities:
All activities must be approved by PCSD and be delivered by a NYS approved provider.  All professional learning provided by the Pittsford Central Schools, Pittsford Teacher Center, and PDTA may count toward the required hours.

Tracking your hours:
All professional learning that takes place through PCSD will be tracked in WinCap PD.  This will include all activities that count toward your contractual requirement for professional learning as well as PCSD Superintendent's Conference Days that include professional learning. Your records will be maintained in WinCap PD for a minimum of eight years as required by SED.  If you are asked to provide documentation of your 100 CTLE hours, you may print certificates of completion for each activity through WinCap PD. Professional Certificate holders will NO LONGER use the Activity Request Form in WinCap PD to track other activities.
