    National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) was established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1921 and 1929.

The NHS application link will take you to the Student Activity form. This form along with your personal statement is your application and you do not need to fill out any other paperwork. If you have any questions to where any activity may fit or believe you may not have an activity for a particular section, please reach out to Mr. Northrup or your counselor for help. Thank you.

Please take care and be safe and healthy!

A note of clarification (March/April 2023): if you receive any communication, by mail or otherwise, from any organization soliciting money as an "application fee" to join an academic honor society, please be aware that such an organization is NOT affiliated with National Honor Society (NHS) or with Pittsford Schools. At no point will Pittsford students be required to pay any money to be members of NHS or to apply for membership. Here is the National Honor Society's website: https://www.nhs.us/. Please contact Mr. Northrup or your counselor if you have questions or concerns.
