District Band Concert

  • Mrs. Trapiss is excited to be at Sutherland High School to begin her 25th year of teaching! She previously had been at Calkins Road Middle School since its opening! Prior to that she taught 7 years in Rush-Henrietta.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Lina Yang for winning the David Hochstein recital competition and  Edward Wu for receiving honorable mention.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Edward Wu for being selected  as an alternate for ALL Eastern.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Edward Wu for being selected for the NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Lina Yang for being selected as an All-State alternate on flute and piccolo!

     

    CONGRATULATIONS to Mary Minnella, Joseph Arikkat and Michael Shi for being selected for the Area All-State Junior High Symphonic Band.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Mara Pastirk and Levi Borrelli for being selected for the Area All-State Junior High Symphony Orchestra.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Edward Wu and Zachary Canning for being selected for the Area All-State Senior High Symphonic Band.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Lina Yang for being selected for the Area All-State Senior High Symphony Orchestra.

  • Current Information:

     

    As we move further into the school year, plans are still ever-changing.  We do know a few things at this point.

    1. Our normal concert schedule is on.
    2. The music teachers are looking at many different ways to help students find a deeper undestanding of how music works and the emotional effect it has on us as well as the reward of how music connects us to others. We will have Mindful Mondays, Theory Thursdays and Fun Fridays throughout the year.
