  • What Can I Do From Home?

    Dear Parents and Students,

I hope you are all safe and healthy!

While you are at home for this time, I would like to offer you a couple of resources that can be helpful to you. First of all, here is a link for a free tuner app, available on iOS and Android smartphones. Bandmate Chromatic Tuner allows one to select their instrument from a list of instruments, and shows the letter name of the pitch one plays, it's location on the staff, as well as how in tune it is by showing a line on the bottom of the screen. If you would like help tuning or understanding how the tuner works, please do not hesitate to contact me. My contact information is listed at the bottom of this message. If you would like to practice your sight reading skills, check out this website: https://www.sightreadingfactory.com/. Sight Reading Factory gives you a couple of examples for free, and you can either customize elements (such as time signature, key signature, rhythms, note ranges, etc.) for you to try your skills on. It also lets you play with a recording of the excerpt! Other things that you can do at home are practice your lesson music and your orchestra music. If you do not have music, please let me know so that we can work that out together.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions that you may have. I am reachable by email throughout the week. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to assist you.
Stay healthy and safe, and have fun making music!
