Starting this week all work will be assigned and turned in using Teams on office 365. See my April 14th post below for instructions on how to join Teams. New assignments will be posted to Teams on Monday at 8am and this work will be due on Friday at 3pm. Please email me if you have any questions or visit me during office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3pm via Zoom.

This week in health class you will be reading habit 3, Put First Things First, in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens book. Take notes as you read on the note sheet in the resources section of my website. After reading the chapter answer the 5 questions on the handout, also found on the resources section of my website. After reading and answering the questions visit our teams page on office 365 and participate in our class discussion. This work is due Friday 4/17 at 3:00 pm.

I hope you are all doing well. The school district has asked teacher to provide high school students with a variety of learning resources. You are being asked to spend approximately 30 minutes on each subject daily. The learning resource for Health class can be found on my website under the resource page. These learning experiences should take you no more than 30 minutes to complete. Please keep the work you complete at home in a folder until we return to school. You may may choose what you do first and when but please complete all assignments. Email me if you have any questions about these assignments.

I hope this message finds you and your family doing well. We are in an unusual time, this is NOT business or school as usual. It will be important to keep this in mind during the days and weeks ahead. Things will be different for a while. School expectations will be adjusted, workloads modified, grades refigured but I believe, most everything will be okay.
While there is much going on in the world that we can’t control, this is a good time to focus on what we can control, our wellness. This challenging time is an opportunity to strengthen your resilience, practice good stress management and make time for the things that help you feel well. I encourage each of you to slow down a bit and make time for things we don’t do while school is in session. Such as, get 8-9 hours of sleep each night, stick to a regular sleep schedule, exercise regularly and make it something you enjoy, get outside and soak up a bit sunshine, do something creative, play, read a good book, cook a meal for your family, play board games etc… You get the idea.
You may choose to use this time as an opportunity to take extra good care of yourself, to build your resilience and wellness. Your assignment for now is to take extra care of yourself physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and intelliectually so that you may feel well and happy.
