Pittsford’s FIRST Robotics Team Participates in World Championship

Pittsford’s FIRST Robotics Team 3181 qualified for and attended the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, TX in April. Team 3181 placed 44th in its division out of 74 teams, with a 4-6 record in the championship round-robin tournament.

Approximately 50,000 people from around the world gathered and watched hundreds of student robotics teams put their innovation, teamwork, and robotics skills to the test.

This was Team 3181’s first time qualifying for the championship. They earned their chance to compete in Houston by winning in the Tech Valley Regional in Albany.

At FIRST Championship, 1,015 student robotics teams from 58 countries competed and exhibited. Many teams earned honors for design excellence, competitive play, research, business plans, creativity, and teamwork.
The annual four-day event concluded with middle and high school robotics teams competing in finals for the FIRST® Robotics Competition and FIRST® Tech Challenge international championships.
