Join us at the 25th Annual Rainbow Classic Games on December 19!

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Rainbow Classic Basketball Games benefiting Golisano Children’s Hospital. I invite you to join us on Friday, December 19, at the U of R Palestra as the Mendon and Sutherland Varsity Basketball Teams go head-to-head for a great cause. The girls’ varsity teams tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ varsity game at 8 p.m. Over the years, the turnout has been outstanding, and over $600,000 has been raised to support numerous initiatives at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Let’s keep the momentum going!

ABOUT THE RAINBOW CLASSIC
25 Years of Support for Golisano Children’s Hospital

This remarkable community-wide event was established in memory of Park Road Elementary School student Katelyn Pasley whose rainbow drawings inspired the now ubiquitous event name, the “Rainbow Classic.” The Rainbow Classic later expanded to include the memory of 2002 Sutherland High School graduate Ryan McCluski and now honors the memory of many Pittsford students as the community comes together to support the Golisano Children’s Hospital and pay tribute to the memory of loved ones.

I could not be more proud of all the Pittsford students, staff and families who have supported this incredible event since its inception in 2001. The planning and execution of the Rainbow Classic is no small fete and is spearheaded every year by Pittsford cheerleaders, basketball players, and coaches with the generous support of the Pasley and McCluski families.

In the 25 years since the Rainbow Classic began, Pittsford Central School District has raised over $600,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital through ticket sales, program ads and donations.

Funds from the Rainbow Classic have supported numerous hospital initiatives, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Program, Teen Lounge, and Pediatric Palliative Care Program. This year's proceeds will help fund the Mobile Care Unit which will allow Golisano Children's Hospital to go into communities to provide services when families cannot travel to the hospital.

Take a virtual tour of the Golisano Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness Building or make a donation at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

I hope to see you at the games on December 19!

Sincerely,
