Administrator Updates

Andrea Lynch was appointed Assistant Principal of Calkins Road Middle School at the August 11, 2026, Board of Education meeting, effective August 11. She enters this role with strong institutional knowledge and leadership skills, having served as an assistant principal at Mendon High School for the past four years.

Lynch has also been an instructional coach for the Churchville-Chili Central School District since 2014, and previously worked as a special education teacher at South Orangetown CSD (2005-14), Ardsley Union Free High School (2004-05), Spencerport High School (2003-04), and Monroe 2 Orleans BOCES (2002-03).

Lynch holds a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo. She also received a Post Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership, Professional Certification in School District Leadership, and Provisional Certification in School Building Leadership from State University at Stony Brook.

 

Robyn Paino was appointed Assistant Principal of Jefferson Road Elementary School at the August 11, 2026, Board of Education meeting, with a start date of September 1. Paino has been with Pittsford Schools since 2019 and most recently served as the school counselor at Park Road Elementary School. Prior to that she was a behavioral specialist at Barker Road Middle School. She has an additional six years of experience in school counseling in other school districts.

Paino holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo, a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from SUNY New Paltz, and advanced certificates in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership.

 

Jay Ballard was appointed Director of Transportation at the July 14, 2026, Board of Education meeting, effective July 27. Ballard brings nearly three decades of school transportation leadership experience to Pittsford and is skilled at managing safe, efficient transportation systems while fostering strong collaboration across school departments.

Prior to coming to Pittsford Schools, he served as Transportation Coordinator for Letchworth Central School District since 2024 where he oversaw all aspects of the district's transportation operations. Previously, Ballard served as Transportation Supervisor for Geneseo Central School District (2016–2024), Wellsville Central School District (2010–2016), and Hinsdale Central School District (1998–2010).

He holds an Associate degree in Occupational Studies from Alfred State College.

 

Danielle Cota was appointed Assistant Principal of Sutherland High School at the June 16, 2026, Board of Education meeting, with a start date of July 6. With over 14 years of experience in education, Cota served as Vice Principal of Cleveland High School in Portland, OR, since 2021 where she was a core member of the executive leadership team for more than 1,400 students.

Cota also served as an administrative intern at Jefferson Middle College for Advanced Studies in 2021. She taught 11th grade science and served as head volleyball coach at Jefferson Middle College from 2018-2021; taught 9th grade science and was athletic director at Lyons Community School from 2015- 2018; and was a science teacher at the Urban Assembly School for Media Studies from 2014- 2015.

Cota’s holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education, Biology 7-12 from Hunter College; a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice; and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from University at Buffalo. She also has her Initial Administrator License from Portland State University.
