Pittsford Students Earn State Titles, Qualify for DECA Internationals

Twenty-six students from Mendon High School and 9 students from Sutherland High School competed alongside approximately 3,400 of the top business students from across New York State at the March 5 DECA State Career Development Conference at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Congratulations to Pittsford’s ten students who won top honors and qualified to advance to DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in April: MHS - Declan Barillo, Hanna Gabriel, Gia Mankani, Susannah Petersen, Sebastian Smith, James Termine; SHS - Joseph Arikkat (State Champion), Kate Castleberry, Jose Gonzalo Marin, Madeline Moore (State Runner-Up). In addition to these international qualifiers, several more students from both schools received Top Ten medals in their events.

·         Jose Gonzalo Marin, 6^th Place in the State in Principles of Entrepreneurship. Medals for Top 10 Role Play, and Top 10 Overall.

·         Kate Castleberry, competed in Apparel and Accessories Marketing, earned a spot in the Aspire Leadership Academy at ICDC.
