The Board of Education unanimously appointed Patrick Irving, Ed.D. as Pittsford Schools’ new Director of Athletics. Dr. Irving is currently serving as the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics at Gates Chili Central School District and will begin his new role as PCSD’s Director of Athletics on August 11, 2023. “With 17 years of combined experience in the classroom as a PE teacher and as the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics at two school districts, Dr. Irving has a rich background set in education-based athletics,” said Superintendent Michael Pero.
He taught at two schools in New York City and returned to Rochester for the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics position at East High School and most recently served as the Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics at Gates Chili Central School District. He is replacing the retiring Athletic Director, Scott Barker.
Dr. Irving holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from St. Bonaventure University, a master’s in health education from Brooklyn College, and a Certificate in School Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He also attended the University of Rochester where he received his Doctorate degree in Education.
