Author Laurel Snyder Captivates Students with Story of How She Became a Writer
Author Laurel Snyder spent the week of March 31-April 4, 2025, inspiring Pittsford elementary school students with engaging tales of how she first became interested in telling stories as a child and how that passion evolved into becoming an author. This annual visiting author week is sponsored by Pittsford’s PTSA. As part of this year’s event, families had the opportunity to purchase Snyder’s children’s books and students met the author at assemblies where they were encouraged to ask questions and walk through the creative writing process with Snyder.
Laurel Snyder is an American poet and writer of children's books, including novels and picture books. She has also edited a number of literary journals and is a commentator for NPR's All Things Considered.
