Mrs. Stevens-Oliver’s fourth grade class at Thornell Road Elementary School presented its book, “Patriotic People, Stories of Our Veterans,” and a quilt created from their illustrations, at a May 22 ceremony attended by the interviewed veterans, parents, Board of Education members, Superintendent Pero, Deputy Town Supervisor Kim Taylor and Town Historian Vicki Masters Profitt.
The class worked throughout the year to interview veterans and then write their stories to share with the Pittsford Community. The book can be found in the Thornell Road Library and in the Town Historian's office. The class also presented their book at the Pittsford Senior Center Luncheon. Thornell Road is proud of its strong partnership with the Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899, and thanks them for their continued support of our students.
