On February 25, 2025, the Pittsford Schools’ Board of Education appointed Jason Simoni as principal of Barker Road Middle School, with a start date of March 26, 2025.
“Mr. Simoni brings a deep and varied background to this position. He has over 20 years of experience in secondary education in public and private settings,” said Michael Pero, Superintendent of Schools.
Most recently, Simoni served as the assistant principal at Webster’s Willink Middle School where he was responsible for students’ academic, social-emotional and behavioral supports across three grade levels. He also served as the lead scheduler at Willink.
Prior to serving in this capacity, he was the principal at Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester. In this role, he managed a large capital project and created a strategic planning committee which included administrators, faculty and parents who developed short- and long-term improvement plans for the school.
Simoni earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Ithaca College, a master’s degree in education from National Louis University (Sarasota, Florida), and his Educational Doctorate degree from St. John Fisher University. He is also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society.
