Universal Free Meals Program Expands to All Grade Levels

Universal Free Meals Program Expands to All Grade Levels

Under the federal and state Universal Free School Meals program, Pittsford Schools is re-entering the National School Lunch Program and expanding Universal Free Meals to include secondary level students along with elementary students who were included in the program last year. This allows students in all grade levels to have one breakfast and lunch per day at no charge.

In accordance with the Universal Free Meals program, students may receive one reimbursable breakfast and lunch at no cost when they go through the line. Students who wish to purchase a second meal must see the cashier to purchase a second’s token since second meals are not included under the Universal Free Meals program.

To cover second meals, snacks or beverages, parents/guardians can add money to their child’s account through MySchoolBucks.com, or by sending checks, payable to Pittsford Food Service, in person or by mail to: Pittsford Food Service Department, 100 Mendon Center Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Parents/guardians can also send money to school with their child to give to the cafeteria staff.

To see all of this year’s great offerings, visit the interactive menu on the district website.

Although student meals are offered at no cost, families are encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application. Eligibility helps our district maximize federal meal reimbursement and may also connect families to additional benefits, including reduced fees for school programs, athletics, transportation, testing, and summer SNAP grocery benefits. Application information is available online through Infinite Campus and on the District website at: Free and Reduced-Price Meals.

Completed applications may be dropped off or mailed to: PCSD Food Service Department, 100 Mendon Center Road, Pittsford, NY 14534.
