Update on Quarantine/Isolation Protocols (1/6/2022)

Dear PCSD Parents/Guardians and Staff:

There has been some conflicting information shared in the media and through multiple agencies around the new guidance of a five (5) day quarantine/isolation and whether it pertains to students. We are working with the Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) to clarify this information and will communicate with you as soon as we have we received official direction. Currently, students need a release from the MCDPH to return to school after testing positive for COVID-19.

PCSD COVID-19 Testing Clinics
A COVID-19 testing clinic is available today, Thursday, January 6, 2022, and Monday, January 10, 2022, through Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 4:30-6:30 pm. at the Barker Road Middle School (75 Barker Road). Please enter through Door 3.

Students must have written parental consent or a parent/guardian must be present in order for students to be tested. Results of these lab tests will be sent to your child’s school nurse and reported to MCDPH. This clinic is unable to provide written results for travel or other purposes.

Our priority and focus is on keeping our students healthy, safe and engaged in active learning. The way our students, staff and parents have responded is unlike anything I have seen. Thank you all for your ongoing support in this endeavor!
