Quick Update from Superintendent Pero (March 11, 2022)

Dear Colleagues and Families,

Since the mask mandate was lifted and became mask-optional on March 2, students, staff and families have shown the highest levels of respect for choice.  At this point, you will see classes and hallways with some people wearing masks and others without masks and, to my knowledge, there have been no issues of judgment, teasing, or shaming.

I want to thank our entire school community for communicating the messages of empathy and respect regarding the choice to mask.  As of today (March 11), we have one positive student case and one positive staff case.  We continue our layered mitigation approaches and they have been effective. Thank you all for working together to make this a positive transition.

To help further spread messages of positivity and gratitude to our caring and dedicated staff, the Pittsford Education Foundation invites students, staff and families to send a “Postcard of Positivity” to teachers or staff members, using this link:

I couldn’t be more grateful for our amazing community of students, families and staff.

Have a great weekend.

Michael Pero
