Pittsford Interact Club Students Make a Difference in our Schools and Community

Superintendent Pero met with Pittsford Rotary’s Interact Club Mendon and Sutherland High School students on May 26 to thank and congratulate them on the numerous community service activities they have accomplished this school year. Their service to organizations and community members in Pittsford and the greater community include things like the Spread the Word Inclusion Campaign, Erie Canal Path Sweeps, Rotary Club service events, Honor Flight Letters, food and charity drives, volunteering for school and community special events, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Walk, Foodlink Work Day, and the Special Olympics Polar Plunge for which they raised nearly $6,000 in donations. Student service and leadership at its best!

The Interact Clubs of Mendon and Sutherland High Schools were chartered by Rotary International in 2002. Their purpose is to provide opportunities for community service, leadership development, friendship and fun. Over the past twenty years, more than 1,700 Pittsford high school students have shared in the Interact experience logging more than 22,000 hours of community service.
