Linda Dickey Appointed as Assistant Principal of Sutherland High School
Pittsford Central School District’s Board of Education approved the appointment of Linda Dickey as Assistant Principal of Sutherland High School at their August 9, 2022 Board meeting, with a start date of August 29.
“With 25 years as an educator and leader, and as a Pittsford alum, Ms. Dickey brings a wealth of experience and a critical understanding of what students need to be successful. She is a welcome addition to our District,” said Superintendent Michael Pero.
Dickey comes to Pittsford Schools after serving as Director for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program for Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women. In this role, she collaborated with school administrators on diversity, equity and inclusion issues and initiatives, and worked with department chairs and faculty on curriculum and instruction. Prior to this, she served as Mercy’s Chair for the Cheryl Speranza Leadership Institute from 2019-2021. As Chair, she was responsible for building the Leadership Institute from the ground up, including its development, implementation, analysis, and continuous improvement of the programmatic components.
As Associate Principal of Boynton Middle School (Ithaca, NY) from 2008 – 2019, Dickey was an effective leader whose responsibilities included faculty observations, student discipline, budget development, and serving as building coordinator for the NYS Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), which seeks to provide students with a safe and supportive environment free from discrimination, intimidation, taunting, harassment, and bullying. She taught Social Studies at Edison Tech from 1998-2008, and at Wilson Magnet High School from 1997-1998.
Ms. Dickey earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in Educational Administration from St. John Fisher College, and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Rochester. She is a graduate of Pittsford Mendon High School.
