Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources to Retire
Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Michael Leone has announced his plan to retire on June 30, 2020. The Board of Education approved Mr. Leone’s retirement at their October 21, 2019 meeting.
“Mr. Leone has been a real asset to the District. His unwavering professional demeanor in solving complex issues and passion for always doing what is best for students, staff and families will be missed,” said Superintendent Michael Pero. “Please join me in thanking him for all he has done so well for so many.”
Mr. Leone began his work as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Pittsford Central School District during the 2012- 2013 school year, after serving as Labor Relations Coordinator at the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership (BOCES). He brought to the role experience in regulatory compliance, investigations and discipline, grievances and arbitrations, hiring and retaining high quality employees, contract negotiations and student discipline.
Next steps will include planning for a comprehensive search process to find a replacement. This process, including timelines, will be shared in the near future.
