Unified Bowling Strikes a Chord for Inclusive Fun

Fourteen athletes from Mendon and Sutherland High Schools participated in Unified Bowling this fall. The team competed against other Monroe County high school teams, including Fairport, Greece, Brighton, Eastridge, Rush Henrietta, and West Irondequoit. Paul Keller (MHS), Simone DeVore (SHS) and Jonah Goetz (SHS) scored personal bests in the match against Greece Unified.  Pierson McQuillen (SHS) and Elie Siebert (SHS) had personal bests in the Eastridge Unified match.

“We are proud of our Unified athletes and partners who competed this past bowling season and look forward to our Unified Basketball season later this school year” said Director of Athletics, Patrick Irving. “Pittsford Athletics proudly supports Unified Sports and continues to explore additional opportunities to enhance inclusion through athletic participation,” he added.

Unified Sports is an initiative of Special Olympics New York and is recognized as an official athletic program of New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
