Fall Sports Update – Athletics Registration System is Open

Many decisions regarding fall sports and athletics were made this week including the suspension of fall high risk sports. Football, volleyball and competitive cheer are considered fall high risk sports and as of the information we currently have, will be moved to the “Fall Sports Season II” that starts practices on or after March 1, 2021.

The Governor announced that low and moderate risk sports are approved to begin practices on Monday, September 21, 2020, however, as a county, we agreed to start on or after September 28. PCSD JV and Varsity sports will start September 29. Approved low and moderate sports include cross-country running, gymnastics, field hockey, girls golf, girls swimming/diving, girls tennis, girls soccer, and boys soccer. The 29th start date allows families more time to complete the Family ID registration and allows the District more time to ensure our athletic health and safety protocols follow all guidelines.  In addition, this added week allows all Districts to evaluate circumstances related to the pandemic after being in school for at least two weeks.

*Of note, modified sports this fall for many districts, including PCSD, will be postponed.  More information will follow.

The Spring Sports Season start date was adjusted to accommodate the Fall Sports Season II. These spring sport teams will begin their first official practices on or after April 19, 2021.

Families are now able to register their child(ren) for the fall 2020 low and moderate risk sports. Please note your child’s registration for the Fall Sports Season must be completed by September 22, 2020. To begin the registration process, visit

FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides parents with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our athletic programs. When you register through FamilyID, the system keeps track of your information in your FamilyID profile. Parents enter their family contact information only once and that information is populated for each family member for multiple uses, and multiple programs.

We are excited to bring these athletics programs back to our Pittsford community. Go Panthers, Knights and Vikings!
