For the Best High Schools rankings, U.S. News & World Report uses a ranking methodology that evaluates schools based on five indicators, including college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, and graduation rate. The highest-ranked schools are those with students who excelled on state tests, performed beyond expectations, participated in and passed a variety of college-level exams and graduated in high proportions.
