PCSD Students Named 2021 National Merit Scholars

Eight Pittsford Central School District Class of 2021 graduates won National Merit Scholarships. They were selected from approximately 15,000 finalists and an initial pool of over 1.6 million U.S. students who took the PSAT/NMSQT, a qualifying test, to compete for approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million.

Only finalists who plan to attend a college or university that sponsors Merit Scholarship awards can be considered for the college-sponsored award. Winners are chosen by officials of the sponsoring college or university.

Corporate-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship Winners

Companies and businesses finance National Merit Scholarships for finalists who meet specified criteria, including students who are children of a sponsor organization’s employees, live in communities where a sponsor organization has plants or offices, or have college major or career interests a sponsor wishes to encourage.
