National and Local Awards Recognize Excellence in District Communication
Pittsford Central School District’s Communication Office was recognized nationally in July with ten School Communication Awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), including Awards of Excellence for the Weekly Friday Message to PCSD Families and Staff During COVID-19, the 2020-21 Budget Newsletter, the Virtual Community Events during COVID-19 social media campaign, and the 2020-21 Absentee Ballot School Budget Vote/BOE Election social media campaign. Awards of Merit were awarded for the Superintendent’s eNewsletter, the 2020-21 Winter and Spring issues of the District Newsletter, 2020 Opening Day social media, the Kindergarten Orientation Video, and the PCSD COVID-19 Website. The Pittsford Schools 2020-21 Calendar of Schedules and Events received an Award of Honorable Mention.
In recognition of communication work that “meets the highest standards of performance in public relations,” PCSD’s Communication Office also received a PRism Award from the Rochester Public Relations Society of America for its Virtual Community Events during COVID-19 social media campaign as well as two Awards of Excellence for Crisis Response to COVID-19 and 2020 Opening Day social media. Rochester’s PRism Awards, an Anvil Awards Program, recognize complete public relations programs and tactical elements incorporating sound insights and analysis, planning, execution and evaluation.
